What that means in plain terms

When you click a link on this site and buy something on Amazon, Amazon pays me a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. Nothing is added to your total.

Does it change what gets recommended?

No product placement is bought or sold here. No brand pays to appear on a list, and no brand has ever sent me anything. Commission rates do vary by product category, but I choose what goes on a list based on whether it suits the person the list is for.

I'm a curator, not a reviewer. I haven't personally used most of what I link to. When a recommendation is based on my own experience, I say so on the page.
